Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Prelint service ("Service") operated by Sierra Five, Inc. ("Prelint", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

Prelint is an AI-powered code review service that integrates with GitHub to review pull requests against your product specifications and documentation. The Service processes code diffs, analyzes them using large language models, and posts review comments on your pull requests. The Service requires an active internet connection to function.

You must authenticate via GitHub or Google to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to violate any applicable laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Use the Service to process content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
• Resell or redistribute the Service without written authorization

Your Code. You retain all ownership rights to your source code, specifications, and documentation. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over the content you process through the Service.

Our Service. Prelint and its underlying technology, including algorithms, models, user interface, and documentation, are the intellectual property of Sierra Five, Inc. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service as described herein.

Review Output. Review comments generated by Prelint are provided as part of the Service. You may use these comments freely within your development workflow.

Our handling of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy. Code diffs are processed in isolated, per-organization containers with dedicated storage. Your code is never shared with another tenant or used for model training. For details on our security practices, see our Security page. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that Prelint uses artificial intelligence and large language models (LLMs) to analyze code diffs and generate review comments. AI-generated output is advisory only and may not be accurate, complete, or free of errors. You should not rely on AI-generated reviews as a substitute for human judgment.

We do not use your code or data to train AI models. All AI processing is performed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable laws. Third-party AI providers operate under contractual zero-retention agreements.

The Service relies on third-party providers for infrastructure, authentication, AI processing, analytics, and payment. These services operate under their own terms and conditions. We are not responsible for the practices or availability of third-party services. For a list of providers, see our Subprocessors page.

The Service requires an active internet connection. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from service interruptions, downtime, or connectivity issues outside our control. We may perform scheduled maintenance and will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance.

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Free trials are provided at our discretion and may be discontinued at any time.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Prelint does not guarantee that review comments will be accurate, complete, or error-free. AI-generated reviews are advisory and should not replace human code review judgment. You are solely responsible for the code you merge and deploy.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SIERRA FIVE, INC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may stop using the Service and uninstall the GitHub App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
