Billing

You pay for seats that can make changes. Viewers are free. Every new organization starts with a 7 day trial at full access, no credit card required.

Per-seat pricing

You pay for the number of seats in your organization. A seat is counted for every team member with the Admin or Member role. Viewers do not count as seats.

Seats are billed monthly on the anniversary of your subscription start date.
The seat count is based on the number of active Admin and Member roles at billing time.

Free trial

Every new organization gets a 7-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card is required to start.

All features are available during the trial, including unlimited reviews.
At the end of the trial, you'll be prompted to add a payment method.
If you don't add a payment method, reviews are paused until you subscribe.

Managing your plan

Manage your subscription from Settings → Billing in the dashboard:

Upgrade. Add more seats or switch to an annual plan. Changes take effect immediately.
Downgrade. Remove seats. The change takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
Cancel. Cancel your subscription. You retain access until the end of the current billing period.

Proration

When you add seats mid-cycle, you're charged a prorated amount for the remaining days in the current billing period. When you remove seats mid-cycle, the credit is applied to your next invoice.

Proration is calculated daily. If you add a seat with 15 days left in a 30-day cycle, you pay 50% of the per-seat rate for that seat.

Invoices and receipts

Prelint uses Stripe for all billing. From Settings → Billing:

View and download past invoices.
Update your payment method.
Change your billing email address.
Access the Stripe customer portal for detailed billing management.

Subscription lifecycle

Your subscription can be in one of these states:

State	Reviews	Description
trialing	Active	Free trial period. Full access, no payment method required.
active	Active	Subscription is paid and current. Normal operation.
past_due	Active	Payment failed. Reviews continue for a grace period while Stripe retries.
canceled	Paused	Subscription canceled or trial expired. Reviews are paused until reactivated.

Future plans

We're working on usage-based pricing for teams that rely heavily on AI coding agents. This will include volume-based review pricing that scales with your PR volume. Contact hello@prelint.com if you're interested in early access.
